== Biography ==

On stardate 236711.05, Lhura was the 2nd child born to Harmakhis and Auqa of the [[House Evekh]]. Not long after her D'Sora, Lhura's older brother, Jedefre (13) was killed on a hunt. Less than a year later, her mother, Auqa, died from a fall. It was rumored in the family that it was really a suicide. Auqa was from the [[House Jarok]] of the Jorani clan and her match to Harmakhis was considered ill-favored; she being too high-strung and soft for the hard way of living the Evekh prefer. Lhura might have been ostersized for being too much like her mother if she had not had the obvious approval of Hru'hfirh Ishen.

Dreaming of becoming a ship commander, Lhura bucked the family tradition of joining the Gai'Shian and instead joined the Galae for her Serona. She soon realized that she lacked the wealth, family connections and the desire to play the political games necessary to attain high rank. Seeing her dream slip away, she pulled a moved that stunned everyone - especially her family. At the end of her Serona she resigned from Galae and applied to Starfleet!

As luck and the Fates had it, the joint cooperation begun by the newly minted Confederation opened an opportunity for her to join Starfleet that would not have been possible anytime before. Lhura spent a year in training at the rank of Ensign, but was promoted to Lieutenant JG and assigned to the USS T'Kumbra under the command of Captain Sardk. The old Vulcan became a mentor to her and was instrumental in helping her adjust to Federation ways.

Her next assignment was not so fortunate, the captain of the USS Ataturk had lost a close friend in combat with Romulans. Though Captain Kallstrom tried to put his personal feelings aside and be objective, he could not and for both his sake and hers, he had her transferred.

By this time - 2398 - tensions were building between the Federation and the Star Empire. Fearing hostilities would begin soon that would put her in an impossible position of having to choose who to support, Lhura requested a posting that would place her as far from the conflict as possible - the USS Vega that was departing for a 5-year mission in the Gamma Quadrant. So successful was this assignment, Lhura took a second tour with the Vega and was promoted from Chief of Security to First Officer.

At the end of the next 5-year mission, the Vega returned to the Alpha Quadrant. While the war between the Federation and Empire had past, Lhura's career had stalled. The next progression for her was command training that would eventually lead to a command of her own, but too many in Starfleet Comand could not trust such a position to a Romulan. Lhura resigned and finally returned to the Empire.

However, having spent so much time away, her loyalty was in question. In an attempt to prove herself, she rejoined the Galae. She was assigned to the Ahuian Colony where her experience with the Federation was believed to help with the diplomatic balance of sharing that world.

== Biography ==

Born in 2354 on Earth, Jonathan Walker spent the majority of his childhood in and around the SOL system. It wasn’t until he was a teenager, and in High School, that he first made a deep space trek; which was a part of a school archeology assignment – the class spent two weeks visiting ancient ruins across the Federation.
As a child Walker enjoyed playing games and having fun, all the while pushing the limits of what he was allowed to do. Someone who believed in his passions, Walker isn’t afraid to stand up for what he believes in, and would oftentimes get himself into dangerous situations for saying things that might have best gone unsaid.

Upon entering Starfleet Academy in the fall of 2372, Walker soon decided to major in Engineering, and Starship Design. Throughout his four years in San Francisco, Walker would try his hardest to maintain good marks as well as to exceed all expectations. With the Dominion War in full swing, the majority of the subject matter covered at the Academy was combat orientated, however Walker was still able to concentrate on Starship Design.

With his graduation in 2376, Walker would be assigned to the USS Farragut as an Assistant Engineering Officer, where he would remain for the next two years. During his tenure on the Farragut, Walker would be injured several times, at least one of those times with serious Plasma Burns – which would require an extended recovery.

For the next six years Walker would be assigned to the USS Florida, and would take part in several highly sensitive operations, including an armed raid on a Romulan Colony – during which several crewmates would be KIA and WIA. For about five months in the spring of 2382, Jon took part in a highly classified undercover operation on the Romulan Colony at Galorndon Core. This assignment, which required surgical alteration of Walker’s physical features, would tax him emotionally, as he became a mole in the Tal Shair.

Two years later, in 2384, Walker was promoted and transferred to station Deep Space 17 to serve as the Chief Engineering Officer. During his assignment at DS17, Walker would be faced with a series of challenges – which would end with his court marshal and reassignment.

In July of 2385 Walker would be assaulted by a Junior Officer with severe emotional trauma. The assault quickly turned into a brawl, which ended with the Junior Officer suffering extensive injuries. No charges were brought against Walker, however the J.O. would be dishonorably discharged from active duty.

In February of 2387 Walker would be forced to make an almost impossible choice when he was forced to send one of his own officers to her death in order to save the entire station. This decision had a large impact on his emotional state, and is still visible today.

In 2389 Lt. Cmdr Walker is transferred to the USS Coral Sea, as her Chief Engineering Officer during a two year mission that would take the ship far from Federation Space. As the small Intrepid Refit Class Vessel made her way deep into uncharted space, tensions between the crew ran high, ultimately leading to Walker breaching a direct order from the Coral Sea’s CO, and causing several diplomats from an alien species to be killed. In response to this dereliction of duty, but realizing that the Coral Sea was still far from Starfleet and needed an experienced Chief Engineer, Walker was allowed to keep his position, but received a demotion in rank.

Upon the Coral Sea’s return to Federation Space in 2401, Walker was transferred to Earth’s Los Angeles Ship Yards to serve as her Chief of Yard maintenance and supply (IE: Chief of Operational Management).

Outside of UCIP I just recently moved to Alabama to finish school in 2009. I've done some writings, won a few awards- nothing special though. Not yet at least! I live with my dog (Bones) whom I rescued from an Alabama animal shelter. I'm half Thai- and spend some of my summers in Thailand. A lot of that time I spend helping to teach English in a rural Thai school, something I really enjoy since most of the kids are rural farm children who tend to be very poor and don't have the opportunities the children in larger cities do. So I go there, talk to them, help them with pronunciations and translate (since I am fluent in Thai). I also can cook Thai food pretty well ;) I also used to help run a Thai restaurant back when I lived in NC. So I do love my Thai heritage.

In UCIP I have been a longtime simmer (since 2001) I joined when I was in high school and I have been in it, save for a two year break, ever since. I have commanded three ships: the USS Warrior A, RIS Aylhr, and now USS Charon. The RIS Aylhr was my first command in UCIP. It was a Romulan email sim which I revived in 2003 after it had fallen away. I commanded the Aylhr through to 2005 and we won a Bergen (best sim in UCIP) award during my tenure as her CO. My second command was the USS Warrior which I ran between 2004-2006ish. We also won a Bergen. However, I believe the Charon is the best sim I've had the opportunity to command so far. The writers here are just incredible! (Update: and we won a bergen this past December!)

I took a hiatus from simming to concentrate on my school work in 2011- this is also the time when Charon ended. Which is why you will see that this website will not only act as a library for the crazy horse but a perpetual archive for the USS Charon.
