	~~Unlike several of the Star Trek games in UCIP we~~ sim in ~~our own universe. We are a member of~~ the ~~Independent Simming Division not~~ the Trek ~~Division. Why? The simplest reason is that we felt the only way we could maintain the quality of our~~ game ~~was to take over our own universe. This change to our own universe now gives our members the ability to develop~~ it ~~without the boundaries of a joint community. It also allows us to maintain the quality of our game.~~		We sim in the UCIP Universe whose history spans over two decades and while it may deviate from the recent movies and Star Trek Online game it makes up for it in both depth and creativity.

	~~We are a game that excels at depth- characters and world. Because of this we want our universe to reflect the~~ depth ~~we have created for our game. The Charonverse is actually a spin-off from the UCIP Universe (though we have edited some historical events to our own purposes)~~ and ~~the year is 2411. Romulus was never destroyed by a supernova. The borg haven't invaded the galaxy..~~.~~etc~~

	We also have a strong focus on the Romulans and Vulcans (not our only focus) but we do explore the depth and histories of these two species in detail. The Romulans we portray are based off the ''Rihannsu'' novel series by Diane Duane and the Vulcans are based off a mixture of ST lore from the series to the novel ''Spock's World.'' Aside from those two species we also have members who play out the Federation Council. The treacherous inner workings of the Romulan Empire. The constant obfuscation of the Cardassian Union and the raw brutality of the Klingon Empire.		We also have a strong focus on the Romulans and Vulcans (not our only focus) but we do explore the depth and histories of these two species in detail.
