The tono'pak is a rough, tangled prickly shrub with thorny stems. Its brass to olive green colored leaves are oval and serrated, a favorite snack for [[Tsh'in|tsh'in]] and wild [[Jarel|jarel]]. It grows roughly 0.8 meters in height and breadth, but often smaller.

The berries are straw colored (a pale ivory when not ripe) and taste rather like a mix of elderberry, dewberry and Efrosian [[Efros Delta#Flora|levithi nuts]], making them an exotic snack and favored import for this species.
The blossoms are a deep garnet color and have a distinct fragrance.
