A tall, decidious tree, known as "Eridanian Teak" to non-Vulcans.
Shaforr can grow up to 20-35 meters in height. The maroon-colored leaves are slightly oval shaped, blooming occurs twice a year with tiny, pale blue and purple flowering clusters reminiscent of miniature Bajoran lilacs.
Found exclusively on the continent of Han-Shir, and even there only in the temperate zones of the T'Ralor nature preserve and Kel province. Cultivation in other regions has been met with limited success, though the Botanical Gardens at K'lan-Ne boast of a 287 year old shaforr and several smaller offspring of this venerable tree.
