IRW Aylhr – A Romulan Saga in the Star Trek Universe

The IRW Aylhr is an award-winning Play-by-Email (PBEM) simulation within UCIP, offering a rich, immersive storytelling experience set in the vast and complex world of Star Trek. Whether you're a seasoned writer seeking intricate political intrigue or a casual player looking for an engaging creative outlet, the Aylhr delivers deep lore, compelling characters, and high-stakes drama—all within the backdrop of a fractured Romulan Empire.

At its core, our philosophy is simple: simming is a passion, not a pressure. It’s about crafting unforgettable stories, breathing life into fascinating characters, and, most importantly, having fun.

Setting – The Empire in Turmoil

The year is 2425. The Romulan Star Empire stands at a precipice. A shadowy conspiracy festers within its highest ranks, threatening to unravel the fragile political landscape. The sudden, unexplained death of the Praetor plunges the Empire into chaos, igniting a ruthless battle for power among rival factions.

Meanwhile, the Klingon Empire, emboldened by military victories, eyes Romulan space with growing ambition. With a new Chancellor at the helm, the Klingons become a looming threat to an already unstable Romulus.

Divided voices echo through the Senate chambers—some demand retreat into isolation, while others call for bold action to secure the Empire’s place in the galaxy. In this time of uncertainty, the IRW Aylhr takes flight once more.

The New IRW Aylhr

A decade after her destruction at the Battle of Dherex, the Aylhr has been reborn. Reconstructed from the wreckage of her fallen predecessor, the D’Dherex-class battleship is a testament to the Empire’s resilience—a powerful symbol of its strength and ambition.

Placed under the command of Riov Rhae’go tr’Neyl, the new Aylhr is destined to carve her own legacy in the stars.

A Commander with a Controversial Past

Rhae’go’s appointment is nothing short of explosive. The son of Ame’ha t’Neyl, a former Galae’EnRiov labeled a traitor, his rise to command is met with intense scrutiny and suspicion. Many believe his bloodline alone should have barred him from ever setting foot on a bridge.

But Galae’EnRiov Shiarrael t’Rehu, the brilliant yet ruthless leader of the Imperial Fleet, sees his promotion differently. To her, the old ways are crumbling—command must be earned through skill, not heritage. In her vision for a modernized Romulan Navy, Rhae’go is a gamble worth taking.

Yet not all share her faith. The weight of his family’s scandal, the whispers of treachery, and the ever-present danger of Romulan politics make his transition to command anything but smooth. As the Aylhr embarks on her first mission, Rhae’go will have to prove that he is not just a man shaped by his past—but a leader worthy of the Empire’s future.
