Biography

Born in the ship bloc region of Nn’Verih on ch’Rihan, Shiarrael t’Rehu grew up in the imposing Rehu estate, surrounded by wealth, duty, and expectation. Her father, a high-ranking Rei’Krannsu officer, was a distant figure, rarely home. Instead, she idolized her mother, though their relationship was anything but simple. As the only child of a noble house, her future seemed predetermined—she was expected to follow in her father’s footsteps. Shiarrael, however, had other plans.

From an early age, she showed an affinity for science and engineering, often dismantling devices just to rebuild them. But her true passion lay elsewhere—combat. She excelled at Tenalri (Romulan Kickboxing) and was a fierce competitor in the underground Kormerek matches, much to her mother’s dismay. Servants would secretly tend to her wounds after fights, hiding her injuries from her mother’s infamous temper.

At 14, her father returned home with one purpose: to see her trained and enlisted in the Rei’Krannsu. But Shiarrael refused to be caged. Knowing the elite force rarely saw real combat, she fled to the Phi’lasam War College, enlisting in the Star Navy under the alias Mosaram t’Ourai. For a year, no one suspected her true identity. She excelled in her studies and quickly proved herself lethal in combat.

Her secret unraveled in her second year when an investigator hired by her parents tracked her down. The confrontation with her father was explosive—he demanded she return home, but Shiarrael defiantly declared, “I have no interest in being an antiquated showpiece.” Enraged, her father attacked her with his Kaleh. She shattered his nose and cracked his cheek in retaliation, forcing him to concede. Though furious, he pulled strings to ensure her career path was anything but conventional.

Years in the Romulan Navy

Upon graduating from the War College, Shiarrael was assigned command of the Saeihr’llaiir. She initially resisted, preferring to climb the ranks through merit, but her father’s influence made refusal impossible. The thought of being controlled fueled her resentment—so much so that she repeatedly declined promotions to higher positions.

FRK War 2398

During the Federation-Romulan War of 2398, Shiarrael was appointed to lead strategic operations for her fleet, playing a crucial role in the attacks on Tomika and Federation Starbase 220. Despite her success, she declined an offer to become Wing Commander of the 3rd Fleet.

Instead, she found fulfillment as a patrol vessel commander. Her relentless discipline and high expectations earned her the nickname Riov Yhisu (Captain Dread). Though strict, she was respected—her crews knew she demanded excellence because she accepted nothing less from herself.

FRK War 2401

During the war of 2401, Shiarrael suffered her first true defeat. In the Battle of Yadalla, the Saeihr’llaiir was critically damaged. She ordered her crew to evacuate and attempted to destroy the ship to prevent its capture. But the self-destruct system had been disabled in the fighting, and she was taken as a prisoner of war.

Her time in captivity changed her. While she never lost her pride, she developed an unexpected respect for the humans she once viewed as weak. Upon her release and return to ch’Rihan, she was given command of the SRR Ishae-a’thrai (Blazing Wolf).

Rise to Wing Commander

For several years, Shiarrael kept a low profile, content with patrolling the Neutral Zone. But in 2407, when Vaek’Riov tr’Verelan offered her command of a patrol wing, she accepted. Eventually, she joined him aboard the Aylhr, preparing to assume command of the First Defense Wing.

IRW Aylhr & Astate Colony

In late 2407, Shiarrael played a pivotal role in stopping a planet-destroying machine, working alongside Starbase Versailles and a Starfleet task force. While her efforts were heroic, they also drew political ire. As a result, she was removed from her wing command and reassigned to oversee the Romulan sector of Ahuian, a volatile frontier settlement.

There, she managed multiple crises, including the outbreak of the Second Dominion War and the Krivaldi threat. She also led a joint reconnaissance mission with Captain Aiden Bravado to Shydal Prime and later fought at the Battle of Typhon alongside Vice Admiral Jolias Enor.

Exile and Betrayal

With the conclusion of the Second Dominion War, political factions sought new targets. Shiarrael, having been responsible for the death of Vajen tr’Lasik, became a scapegoat for the powerful Zorek clan. Worse, her relationship with Captain Aiden Bravado—and the twin children they conceived—was used against her. Branded a traitor, she was exiled by the Senate’s Continuing Committee.

After Exile

Shiarrael returned to Astate, raising her infants in Captain Bravado’s colony quarters. She resigned herself to a quiet life, believing her days as a warrior were over. But fate had other plans. Admiral Enor approached her with an offer she couldn't refuse—the chance to command a starship once more, this time under Starfleet.

Life in Starfleet

Shiarrael accepted and began intensive Starfleet training under Admiral Baldr Odin, learning the rules and regulations of her new fleet.

Personality

Shiarrael is known for her unwavering passion and fearless nature. As a commanding officer, she delivers fiery speeches that inspire fierce loyalty. She also has a reputation for her love of battle—when stationed near Klingon space, she would deliberately start fights in border taverns just to test her skills in hand-to-hand combat. Many nights ended with her being dragged out, bloodied but victorious, much to the amusement of her crew.

A striking beauty, she has attracted numerous suitors over the years, all of whom she rejected. Rumors persist that she once fell for a human during her time as a prisoner, though she vehemently denies it. Instead, she remains steadfast in her belief that true fulfillment lies not in love, but in achieving her afw’ein (purpose).

Love Life

Despite her resistance to romantic entanglements, Shiarrael found herself drawn to the eccentric and rugged Captain Aiden Bravado. Their bond deepened after their joint mission to Shydal Prime, culminating in an unexpected consequence—twins. Though their relationship was unconventional, it was undeniably passionate, and it changed the course of her life forever.
