Male Betazoid from the Tharazad continent, known for his sunny temper.
Rather than follow his mother into diplomacy, he joined the Betazed Defense Forces and quickly caught the attention of Moshe Astrun who recruited him into the newly assembled Arandel Squadron designated "Jewel Three"
People tend to overlook Kolan's extraordinary piloting skills due to his tendency to play the clown, but his friends strongly suspect he prefers it that way.
