Stories that he was asked to leave the Corps for being a smarta** who delighted in embarassing superiors or that he lent his piloting skills to Orion pirates 'for the fun of it' continue to float around Betazed, however he never confirmed any portion of it.

Tourists visiting Arandel are often left to wonder about the meaning of the lone Interceptor sitting outside the small spaceport which also serves as base for the infamous squadron Jewel Three. The green cow playing a harp painted on the hull and the frequently replaced flowers in front of it have given at least some Terran visitors a hint, just as the plaque with the cryptic words "In the big pub way up in the sky - you never ever drink 'em dry"
