Dun-yar is a hardy, mostly yellow-gold grass which can grow in many types of habitat, including dry, rocky slopes and desert. Its range is almost planet-wide, but it grows most commonly and widely in semi-arid climates and savannahs.
It is a tufted perennial no more than 30 cm tall, and is a traditional source used to make a papyrus-like paper.
