An ahn-woon is an ancient Vulcan weapon made of a strip of leather or sturdy fiber, with weighted extremities. It can be used as a bola, slingshot, garotte, or whip.
The strip of leather is 15-20 centimeters wide and can be 120-180 centimeters in length.
The ahn-woon has evolved from the ancient slingshots fashioned from wun'kas-elakh vines, and many Vulcan historian believe it to be the planet's oldest known weapon.
The ahn-woon is used by combatants in the kal'i'fee (marriage challenge)
