Biography

Nicholas was born to parents Brigadier General Alexander Dramont and Louise Dramont in the small rural catholic town of St Raphael, in France on Earth, on the 25th December. He was born at home to a very religious family. His father a marine flag officer spent his time in Quantico overseeing training of the new recruits. His mother was a priest for the local church. Nicholas was their only child and the New Year started as a young baby Nicholas was baptised in the local Catholic Church by his own mother. The Celebration was a huge occasion for the villagers of St Raphael and the entire village turned out for the momentous occasion. At the age of five Nicholas and his parents took a holiday to a quiet spot on the east coast of India during their stay a major flood swept through the town destroying the holiday house and killing his parents, trapped under the rubble the young boy blacked out. When he woke three days later, he was cold, tired and starving. When he awoke he saw what he believed, and still does, an Angel that saved him from death and brought him back to the light.

He was found by a Starfleet rescue group, who returned him to France. Unsure by how to deal with the child they put him into care with the local church. His parents were buried and afterwards with no relatives he stayed at the boarding school under the strict care of the local nunnery. It was at this nunnery where Nicholas met a young girl called Dominique Varoux who he befriended. The two were never seen apart and they had been able to signal to each other from their separate rooms late at night. On one of these nights they had decided to meet up and roam the grounds of the Nunnery and Boarding School. During this midnight session the two children overheard a local businessman’s plans to buy the nunnery and turn it into flats for holiday makers. The Nun was in tears and knew that the money needed to put forward at the auction was unattainable.

Seeing the Nuns reaction Nicholas felt his way to repay them for their kindness to him was to take it upon himself to find or raise the money. Saying goodbye to Dominique he secretly left the Nunnery and managed to hide on a transport ship to take him to San Francisco. On arrival he was pushed around and felt small in the vast city of people. He found himself an ally and had crouched down, weeks past and he still only had a few credits. He was cold, tired and alone. He had nothing but what he was wearing the night he had left and a small angel pendent that he had been given by Dominique when they had parted with a kiss at the gates. Holding the pendent closely Nicholas begun to feel the strain of living on the street with nothing, his clothes began to look like rags and his eyes faded.

He was found by a generous and loyal Starfleet Officer, one sunny morning in San Francisco the sun was beating down and Nicholas was cowering in a small box away from the main streets when he was found by the then Captain Robert “High Flyer” Dryer who stood tall above him in his Starfleet uniform. Dryer was a Group Commander of the 1st “Angels” Tactical Defence Group based out of Starfleet Command as the leading fighter unit for Earth Defence. Taking Nicholas back to the base with him he sat with the frail boy as the medical teams revived him and took care of him. When Nicholas was healed he told Dryer his story about the Nunnery and Dominique and why he was here. Dryer listened to the frightened yet compellingly brave child and decided to help his endeavour by paying for the Nunnery to remain a property of the church. The two returned to the Nunnery and the deals were signed, the Nuns were tearfully happy that Nicholas had returned safely and that their home was safe, in the celebrations Dryer had referred to Nicholas as a saint, this name stuck with him and would become his call sign when he was a pilot.

Finding out that Dominique had been adopted by an English couple Nicholas was devastated, he had tasted the city and itched to return, the small province always his home, but now he had a longing to explore. Dryer agreed to take Nicholas back with him and he would mentor the boy and have him enrolled into Starfleet. While they were travelling back they discussed career paths in the organisation, Nicholas told Dryer that he always dreamed of flying like a bird. Dryer just smiled and told Nicholas a phrase he would remember forever: “A dream begins in the mind, many people dream of being higher, dream of freedom, dream of flying”

Nicholas lived on the base with Dryer and watched the pilots as they flew and repaired their fighters. Learning immense amounts from the ground crew and in the air by being taken out by various unit members Nicholas had grown up to love being in the air and the thrill and rush of flying. At 17 he enrolled into Starfleet Academy and after passing the usual basic training he was accepted into the Jump School. After passing the Elite Jump Course with flying colours he was enrolled and accepted into the flight school by the very man that saved his home. Captain Dryer had been transferred to Starfleet Academy and was now the lead Instructor for the flight course.

Nicholas was doing exceptionally well in his Flight School Training and made good friends with one young pilot Catrel Narvel. The two became the best of friends on the course and often spent many evenings walking through the long hanger bays at the fighters kept there. They grew so close that a bond of love was developed and the two became friends for life, caring for each other and making sure that the other was ok.

Partway during the course a jealous young Bolian pilot named Ravel became increasingly more angered that Nicholas was not only well liked by the other cadets but was also respected and the best flyer in the group. This petty jealousy turned nasty when the three of them plus several other cadets were placed in the esteemed Gold Spear training squadron under the command of Captain Dryer. The Squadron flew many flights and Nicholas was always on top form during the many displays of aerospace displays that were put on to the visiting dignitaries on Earth. On the final flight, the last exam the Gold Spear Training Squadron set out on a course led by the Squadron Commander Captain Dryer. The flight was going well and Nicholas was completing the exercise on top form. After the supervised assessment the cadets of the Squadron were told to fly the same route with out the Captain who gave control over to Nicholas, during the set up and preparation for the last exam Ravel sabotaged Nicholas’ fighter control console to follow a pre set flight pattern when it reached a certain speed.

Unknowingly Nicholas begun to lead the Squadron perfectly, the pre-flight checks had all been done correctly, and the sabotage was not discovered. The fighters eventually reached the trigger speed and immediately Nicholas begun to loose control of the fighter. The craft spun of the flight path and dived down before looping the confused group and narrowly missed colliding with another fighter, Ravel hadn’t realised that his tampering could have caused the death of several cadets as the shuttle continued on its erratic path. Nicholas managed to lock the fighter in one direction before activating the ejection pod, the fighter collided with an asteroid causing the rest of the Squadron to have to take evasive action, the team was picked up by the training Akira class Starship, the UTS Nolan.

Back on the Nolan during the debrief the Squadron was told that the errors had been due to a computer malfunction and the Squadron had passed the course, Ravels plot foiled he remained silent during the debrief. After this Academy encounter Nicholas transferred over to Quantico where he completed basic marine training and passed the course with relatively high marks. He, unlike the rest of the former training squadron decided to join a HALO Platoon on the MCS Ryder. During one of the missions the Platoon Leader was killed when he was shot out of the sky by an enemy fighter, The team landed in the complex and completed the mission objectives they had been set, being picked up later by a shuttle, the Commanding Officer of the Ryder promoted Nicholas to 1st Lieutenant and Platoon Leader.

Back at the Academy the JAG Department were still investigating the incident with the Gold Spear Squadron and had found evidence that Nicholas himself was to blame. Calling the entire Squadron back they conducted a trial based on the false evidence that proved Nicholas was to blame. Being found guilty of Dangerous Flying, Deception to the Academy and Possible Murder, Nicholas was given a dishonourable discharge from Starfleet and informed to return to civilian lifestyle. Enraged that he had been removed from his job he returned to the small town of St Raphael and took up his love of Fencing once again training himself to the Master level and then starting his own School Of Fencing in the town.

At the Academy the then Commodore Dryer refused to believe that Nicholas was to blame, coming to dead ends with every route he took to clear Nicholas’ name he was relieved when Ravel came to confess the true happenings of the situation. Fuming Dryer reopened the case with the JAG department where in a private appeal Ravel confessed to sabotage and was removed from Starfleet. Sending an officer of the JAG Department to the hometown of Nicholas he was apologised to and reinstated as a Pilot in Starfleet where he received orders that he was to fly with the Angel Squadron on Starbase 742, Aurora.

After serving as Flight Leader while the station was under reconstruction Nicholas was promoted to Squadron Commander and presented with his Master Jump Wings from when he was in service on the MCS Ryder. On leaving Xonnel Colony to take up his duties on Aurora Nicholas was approached by Agent Timothy Cole, this Section 31 agent posing as Starfleet Intelligence recruited Nicholas to take a detour from returning to the base and retrieve a locked suitcase. Unknown to the true nature of the mission Nicholas took his personal fighter, the WhiteStar and retrieved the case. On returning to Aurora Nicholas took up the role as Squadron Commander for the Angels and was Promoted to LTJG and Wing Lt. Taking the Angels out for a training mission the entire squadron crashed on Novella V. After saving the life of one Elizabeth Madden, a fellow pilot, the two grew close and fell in love. Back on Aurora, Nicholas and Elizabeth decided to share quarters as a sign of their growing relationship with each other.

However, Nicholas was approached by the Director of SFI and sent on a top secret mission, leaving the Aurora and his lover behind Nicholas embarked on this solo mission to take out rogue Starfleet commander who threatened Starfleet internal security. On being captured Nicholas endured a month of serious torture before being rescued by SFI. On returning to Aurora Nicholas had a severe set of operations to revive him and mend the broken bones and restore his vitals to normal parameters. On returning Nicholas learnt of his new posting, a pilot in the Titans Squadron of the 3rd MEU on Trilista. He left Starfleet Intelligence and returned to marine life as a pilot, once again back in the skies.

Now flying as the Flight Commander in the Titans Squadron Nicholas led the unit into two separate missions in the MEUs Tanaris Campaign, the first saw the destruction of the enemy listening outpost and the second saw the saving of an infantry platoon. During the second mission Nicholas risked hi own life by crashing his fighter into an enemy Viper craft in order to stop an attack on the platoon, nearly being killed Nicholas was transported back to the Anzac where he retrieved medical attention, it was at this point that Nicholas lost the lower half of his leg and had it replaced with cybernetics. During this recovery time, Nicholas proposed to Elizabeth Madden and the two took some leave from Starfleet to arrange and hold the wedding at Nicholas’ home town of St Raphael.

After the two honeymooned on the luscious paradise planet of Rica, Nicholas was transferred into the Starfleet Special Forces where he received basic training and was then assigned to the USS Chimera as the ships Squadron Commander. During his time on the Chimera Nicholas led the Squadron into many dangerous situations that called for the best of his flying ability. His time in Special Forces taught him more about operational flying than the Academy ever could and it was during some impressive operations that noted Starfleet Aerospace Branch of this successful high flyer and highly decorated Starfleet Officer. While working on the Chimera he was contacted by Starfleet Intelligence once again, it seemed that he had been one of the best operatives they had employed and as such were in need of his services once again. Loving his time in Intelligence Nicholas transferred off the Chimera and returned to Starfleet Intelligence Headquarters where he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and ran the Starfleet Active Intelligence Network. Codenamed, S.A.I.NT.

S.A.I.NT was a highly trained team of covert operatives who had marine and Special Forces background. The men and women of S.A.I.NT were equipped with the latest in masking technology and stealth equipment and operated of a Defiant Class ship known as the USS Incursion.

After a brief stint leading the elite Intelligence Team Nicholas was given command of the Achilles Class Starship, the USS Anubis. This SSF vessel took part in the Krivaldi Campaign led by his former XO, Kerry Malone and the USS Intrepid task force. The Anubis was lost in the fight and Nicholas took command of the 1st Tactical Defence Group on Earth. Tasked with defending Sector 001 this exceptional unit flourished under Nicholas' command until he was ordered back to Starfleet Intelligence to continue his command of S.A.I.NT.

During a brief LOA that Nicholas took from SFI he found himself on Deep Space 32 acting as the Interim Squadron Commander for the TCS-974 'Red Dragons'. His special assignment was to provide aide to the CSS Enterprise during their combat against the Reclaimers. Flying in the dogfight with his squadron Nicholas pulled off some impressive arial stunts and felt more at home in the cockpit of a fighter than he did undercover, it was like he had never been away. Suffering minor injuries and hanging in there despite his fighter being badly damaged Nicholas acclaimed the highest kill count and easily the most impressive arial stunt when he locked his ship to another, spun down to the planet and detached it as the enemy hit a rockface. Able to get medical attention and some repairs on Enterprise Nicholas is awarded the Distinguished Flying Order and then returns the fighter and goes back to France to enjoy the rest of his LOA.
