Aaliyah was an unremarkable child until a teacher found that she had a knack for calming her fellow students, ironic as she was one of the most energetic children you could know.

Since finding her skill at a young age she has been prepared for joining Starfleet, with a view to becoming a counsellor. She did well at the academy but decided that at heart she was a traveller, and as such she decided to move on to become a specialist in Post traumatic counselling.

Feeling the need to settle down a little, however, when she was offered the chance to work with the crew in and around the Astate colony she took the position and her promotion to Lieutenant.

Since joining the crew on Astate Aaliyah has been inundated with work, including the mental evaluations of the newly arrived cadets. With the building of the new campus Aaliyah has been organising and executing the orientation of the new arrivals.

Aaliyah's musical abilities have not gone unotticed and she has been asked to play at several venues, as well as having played for several morale boosting events.
