Kareena was born into an exceedingly affluent noble family, the third child of two famous parents. To her parent's surprise, she was an empathic metamorph, something prized by her race. While male empathic metamorphs were common, the female empathic metamorphs were born once every seven generations. It so happened that she had been the first one born since Kamala, the empathic metamorph who brought peace to Krios Prime by marrying the Valtese Chancellor, Alrik of Valt Minor.

Before being whisked away from her mother and father, Kareena lived the first four years of her life in a home utterly devoid of happiness. Her mother was a strict and exceedingly frigid sort of woman who never loved her father in the slightest. Her father was greatly embroiled in the politics of Krios Prime and Valt Minor. While her father was seldom home, she never had a chance to escape the piercing green gaze of her mother.

Jaalina ruled the home with an iron grip and often applied more pressure to Kareena more than she did her other children. The two elder daughters, Saraswata and Lakala would often leave her out in their games. Kareena was something of a quiet child and took to wandering around the grounds of their family castle. The castle was settled upon the beginning of a mighty wood to the south, mountains to the west, an endless meadow to the east and a small stunning lake to the north.

Kareena's nanny, Armula would often lose her as she would scurry into the woods or go sprinting to the lake's edge or to dance about in the meadow. She truly was a spirited child who adored nature. So it wasn't uncommon to find every one in the castle, ambling about in panic as they screamed her name. Jaalina adored her littlest daughter but nevertheless, she seldom ever allowed her out of her sight. The third year of her life, a baby brother was born and he was named Nolar. With the new baby, Jaalina rarely ever paid attention to the lonely Kareena who then pretended that Armula was her true mother. The Kriosian government soon learned of the birth of a Kriosian empathic metamorph from her greedy father who hoped to be reimbursed. It was almost as if he was selling his own daughter to the state.

At the tender age of 4, she was taken from her parents by the government, to a Royal Village on the shores of Lake Athrune where she had a multitude of servants and tutors. The rest of her childhood and early teenage years were spent bettering herself in the arts, mathematics, history, literature and sex.

Where Kareena's early years were lonely, her pre-teenage and teenage years were abundant with attention. She received attention from everyone including the servants, the tutors and even Kriosian politicians who would come visit and attempt to glimpse the empathic metamorph. Though attempts were made at viewing her, she remained obscured and hidden away from the public, especially the Kriosian men. It wasn't long until all of Krios Prime were aware of the new empathic metamorph. Though petty squabbles broke out as to who would marry her, the issue remained unfinished for she was far too young to wed.

She had a favorite tutor by the name of Syvik who taught both science and mathematics. Syvik was a Vulcan and Kareena took a particular interest in him but she was discouraged from forming any attachment to him. She was assigned a new tutor and he was immediately dismissed. In the years of preparation, she wasn't allowed even remotely near any individual of the male gender.

Much to her dismay, the new tutor was a female, an aging Kriosian woman with gray hair and steel gray eyes. The ancient woman was named Narma and she utterly disdained the young Kareena. She would often announce that Kareena was an imbecile and due to her cruelty towards Kareena, she too was officially dismissed from her position.

The third tutor was yet another female by the name of Aaitama with a mane of long chestnut brown hair and soft honey-colored eyes. She treated Kareena with immense respect, often mentoring her like a mother. In time, Aaitama began to remind her of her own mother. As each lesson drew to a close, Kareena began to hunger for more knowledge. What once was a grueling task soon transformed into something of an enjoyable pleasure. Kareena was slowly transforming into everything a Kriosian lady should be.

Years wore on and Kareena soon reached the age of 16. The Kriosian politicians and goverment officials often visited her then to look up her and appraise her worth. Much to their surprise, she possessed a comely appearance and she no longer was the awkward stick-thin girl she once was but an intriguing young woman. Her long red-gold mane was a waterfall down her back and her eyes were two dark orbs that seemed like gems set almond-shaped in her ovate face. This time, more quarrels broke out and the violence increased a hundred-fold. The government officials, politicians, ambassadors and noblemen of authority all met in the capital city of Krios Prime to discuss the issue. All the same question was on their mind, {Who is to marry the empathic metamorph?} It took many months for the men to actually make peace but the name of the groom remained undecided.

Word of her profound beauty even reached Valtese and there it spread like wildfire amongst the males. The Kriosian ruler met with the Valtese ruler to discuss the proposal of a marriage for both lucrative and peaceful reasons. The Valtese ruler chose his brother, Cynrik, a swarthy ill-mannered greedy swine of a man who was disliked by the Valtese people in general. The ruler believed that his brother would do better to have a pretty young wife to possibly even aid in winning over his allegiance. It was soon ordained that she was to be wed to the odious yet hideous Valtese Prince Cynrik but she had no desire to. Her real desire was to explore amongst the stars and strangely enough, join the Human Starfleet. It seemed so much more appealing than being the wife of some stolid rigid politician. She heard various whispers concerning the Starfleet amongst her servants and the more she researched it, the more interested she became.

Much to her shock and secret relief, Cynrik was ruthlessly murdered by his brother, Inyrik (a lesser prince) over a familial dispute that included money. Her first thought upon hearing the news was that she was free but indeed she was wrong for the government soon assigned her a new groom, Karan of Mundar. When first she became acquainted with Karan of Mundar, she thought him to be every bit as handsome as he was kind and wise.

Kareena soon wedded the young Karan and it wasn't long until she discovered his malicious and terrible nature. He was oppressive, cold-hearted, machiavellian and utterly barbaric in demeanor. Outwardly, he appeared to be a suave and "kind-hearted" politician but he wasn't anything of the sort. He was excessively liked by the government, the ruler and the people of Krios Prime. At times he would excerise control over his new young wife and seldom ever allowed her out of his sight, thinking her to be up to no good. With haste, he became abusive and Kareena became lost in conflict. Being an empathic metamorph, she naturally adapted to his moods and his malicious attitude but there was something inside her that wanted to resist. After much thought and consideration, she thought it best to leave for a journey of self-discovery.

In early of 2402, she left the home of her husband in the southerly land of Mundar and traveled to the capital where she lived under the assumed name of Malika. The idea of simply divorcing Karan crossed her mind but to do so would openly shame her family and he would never agree to it. So she took up the position of a waitress and made a meager living scrounging up what she could whilst lying low. In mid 2402, she met Shane O'Hanlon, a Starfleet Ensign. He was aboard the USS Stonewall that was visiting Krios Prime for a political mission and he was allowed a brief two-week shore leave.

Their friendship began slowly and soon blossomed as they spent more and more time together. Constantly, he spoke of a world called Earth which was the home of Starfleet and the noble principles and laws that Starfleet abided by. To Kareena, nothing seemed more glorious than living her life for the better good and sacrificing it to help others. Being the wife of a politician, she would never be allowed to enjoy such a freedom. While on Krios Prime, Shane shared an all-too brief romance with Kareena. However, the two weeks went by fast and he had to return to his ship with promises of correspondence.

When he was gone from Krios Prime, she had no desire to linger there lest she be found, so the first thing she did was go to the first Federation Embassy she could locate There, she glanced at various pamphlets and she read extensively about Starfleet and its many benefits. Finally, she sold some of the valuable jewelry she was given by her husband and purchased a ticket on a public shuttle off world to Earth.

Upon arriving on Earth, she was accepted into Starfleet and enrolled in various different classes, thus recorded by Starfleet to be the first Kriosian Empathic Metamorph to enter Starfleet Academy in Federation history.

In time, she began to realize that what she truly desired was to be either a Counselor or Medical Official. She desired to help others instead of being helped herself. She enjoyed nothing more than to bring a smile to someone's face or to brighten up their day. The years that went by at Starfleet Academy were smooth and she piqued much interest in some of the males that attended. However, due to her marred past, she kept to herself, choosing not to get involved with the males she met. During the four years, her interest in various other species grew and she also took classes on Xenobiology and Xenoarchaeology to widen her range of knowledge on other species. Eventually, Kareena changed her mind completely and decided to pursue a career in Communications. Aside from learning the knowledge of other cultures, she immersed herself in many different languages such as Romulan, Klingonese as well as other languages.

With a clever mind, quick wit and a studious habit, she strived to become the top student of her class though failed miserably in her attempt. She accepted the post of Chief Counselor aboard the USS Dirae.

Later on in the life of Kareena, she joined the USS Dirae during their stop at Starbase Zetari and had been aboard for two weeks, easing into the role of a Chief Counselor.

However, her stay on the Dirae was brief for she had to return home to help her ailing mother. Her return home caused something of an issue because her husband pursued her, attempting to win her back. She pressed the issue of possibly having a divorce but all attempts to divorce failed. Kareena remains to this day, married to Karan who will not divorce her.

Recently, Kareena has accepted the position of Chief Communications Officer aboard the USS Charon.

Medical History

Medical Evaluation: Date: SD240708.30 Name of Subject: Kareena Species of Subject: Kriosian (Empathic Metamorph) Name of Doctor: Dr. Ellen Channing

Kareena has been fully evaluated and has received all shots needed. The evaluation has been conducted with limited knowledge of the Kriosian anatomy. She possesses somewhat of a strong immune system, however, she often undergoes difficulty regarding her digestion system. She takes pills daily to remedy the situation. Nevertheless, she is fit for work aboard a Starship. An extra note: Due to her empathic abilities, this particular Kriosian female's eyes tend to shift from various different colors. The cause of such strangeness is clearly unknown.

Psych Evaluation: Date: SD240707.27 Name of Subject: Kareena Species of Subject: Kriosian (Empathic Metamorph) Name of Counselor: Cnslr Matthias Grimm

Kareena is an introverted creature that reveals little to others. She is kind and caring outwardly. When witnessing others in trouble, she won't hesitate to offer them assistance. She tends to have sympathy for all beings and creatures. Due to my analysis, she is seen as fit for a position in the Federation fleet.
