Born 237807.03, Jérôme grew up in the outskirts of the Élysée Shipyards near New Paris on the New France Colony. His Parents, Pierre & Marie-Celeste were both engineers in the shipyard, an so Jérôme grew up learning the tools of their trade, and was expected to go on to gain a Engineering Degree from the LaFayette University when he had finished high school. Upon completing high school, Jérôme did indeed go on to attend the LaFayette University, but rather than studying Engineering, he enrolled to study Medicine and Psychology, which was more in following with his personal interests. He graduated from the University with honours in 2400 and went on to start his own medical practice on the colony.
Jérôme spent the next five years living a blessed life. His career thrived; he married, and had a son. Unfortunately, on 240509.17 tragedy hit the Dubois household. Jérôme lost both his wife and infant child to disease, despite his best efforts to save them. Falling into depression, Jérôme left New Paris behind and wandered New France Colony in hopes of finding the courage to end his own life, and therefore rejoin his family, instead he found Starfleet. After a year of travelling, he found himself looking at the familiar sight of the Élysée Shipyards, and with nothing left to lose he enlisted as a Medical Officer.
Starfleet gave him a purpose, and resparked his will to live. Having graduated top of his class, and now equipped with an up to date Degree in Combat Medicine and Disease Prevention, Jérôme boarded the USS Guardian enroute to his posting as Chief Medical Officer aboard the USS Charon.
