Romulan Justice

From IRW Aylhr

In the contemporary era, the Romulan courts are broken into 3 levels: local, planetary, and system. The ortaim over see these trials without a jury, though publicly elected public defenders stand in defense of charges brought up by the authorities.

  • Note: Prior to 2398 the Tal Shiar sometimes stood in either defense of the individual, or in second of the authorities. Especially in matters of loyalty to the Empire. However, the Tal Shiar have since ended their involvement in local judicial affairs since the reign of Praetor tr'AAnikh.

Ortaims (Judges)

The runners of the Imperial court's system are the Ortaims. They serve as the judge and jury- with cross-examination suppled by an adjutant from local or planetary authorities and a defendant chosen by the people of the kaisu (district).

Vaek`Ortaim (High Justice: Upper courts)
Dais`Ortaim (Chief Justice: Middle courts)
Ortaim (Justice: either in training or in charge of a lower court)
Allhka (Police Equivalent: Work with both the courts and the authorities)
