A horse-like animal native to Vulcan, roughly resembles a scimitar horned oryx with elements of terran desert dwelling equines. Mostly of pale white coloring with golden brown or amber markings, domesticated Jarel were used as riding beasts throughout Vulcan history though the practice has become fairly rare in modern times.
Jarel usually travel in herds and can be found on the continents of Na'Nam and Han'Shir. Their preferred habitat is the savannah-like zones of Kir and Khomi and southern Go'an, although a small population has persisted in the roucgh Viltan Flats.
