Following the old axiom that only a cranky engineer is a good engineer, Shenn has greatly improved the language skills of several officers he had the pleasure of working with - at least in the area of Andorian incentives and metaphors involving his planet's animal life.
On the upside (if he'll ever admit to there being one), he tends to get the most interesting assignments. Be it patching up the ship while under fire (note to Romulan boarding troops: flattened antennae means he does not appreciate the interruption and coil spanners DO hurt when thrown expertly) or joining away teams to doomed planets, keeping shuttles from coming apart at the seams or fixing holodecks and gym after the latest little mishap with Klingons, Shenn is up to any challenge as long as there's some ale waiting at the end of the day.
