Located in the forward section of decks two and three, the combined crew mess and lounge have been re-named "Eris Deck' by Charon's crew (according to engineer Myram Pax 23 is the sacred number of the ancient Terran goddess Eris, but common consensus is that Eris deck is less of a mothful and once someone came up with it, it simply stuck).
Deck three houses the mess hall (though 'fancy restaurant' might be a more apt description), while the lounge on deck two offers a bar and comfortable, secluded seating arrangements.
Most of the service personnel cosists of sophisticated holograms, although Charon can claim to have not only an eccentric chef looking after the crew's culinary needs, but a Chief Cook with an impressive ability to improvise at a moment's notice. Said mistress of Charon's pots and pans is also known to indulge individual crew members with special treats.

-Eris Deck from Shiarrael t`Rehu 's poit of view-
To one side of the mess a large buffet containing several different menu choices was set up and lining the front wall left of the main entrance was the kitchen and serving counter. Comfortable plush chairs and tables were lined up perpendicular to large arcing windows that faced forward on the Charon's saucer section. To the right of the main entrance was a large spiraling staircase that led up to the crew lounges and bar located on Deck 2. An arch shaped cut opened up half of the mess's ceiling connecting it to the lounges above. Gold rails framed the balcony and a massive chandelier was carefully nestled just above the gap.

Unlike the brightly lit mess the crew lounge was much more subdued. Lamps on small stands were the main sources of light other than the glow coming from the floor gap that connected the lounge to the mess below. Shiarrael sat down in one of the empty lounge chairs and watched the stars flow by. It was one of the best views on the ship and Shiarrael enjoyed it.
