Biography
Overview
Born on September 4th of 2486 at Starfleet Medical Adjunct Terra 12 in Minneapolis Robert grew up in what most consider the typical Starfleet family. His father Joeseph Lansine served aboard the USS Pandora as the Chief Science Officer while his mother worked from home as a Starfleet Medical Researcher. Growing up in a family with connections in Starfleet as long ago as the NX-02 Columbia, Robert was ingrained with a strong feeling of commitment to his family's line of officers.
This commitment however would come under fire in 2499 when Robert's father, Joseph was dishonorably discharged from Starfleet regarding his actions on a mission regarding Top Secret weapons R&D. Robert immediately removed his name from Pre-Academy screening and for the next two years would live with his father in a remote colony near Orion, the home to the previously notorious Orion Syndicate.
It wasn't until almost two years later, and almost to sheer luck when Rob met a woman traveling on a Federation transport ship with knowledge of his father's trial. In their two years of isolation from the Federation media Rob had missed an outpouring of information regarding the terms of his father's discharge. Files, once deemed classified by Starfleet Command were opened to the public by protests from media outlets. Details from the reports cast Joeseph Lansine as a coward and worthy of his discharge. Robert was again faced with a upheaval of emotions and left his father on the transport back to Federation space; leaving his own father, heartbroken and alone on Orion IV.

Robert wouldn't return to Earth for another year, he skipped around from supply ship to supply ship following his departure from Orion not knowing what to do. Here he found an odd sense of belonging, he helped out where he could, offering advice to some of the more novice space-goers; having grown up in a Starfleet family Rob was quite familiar with Starship operation. It wasn't until he accidentally boarded an Earth-bound transport he made his way back home.
Arriving home in the summer of 2402 Rob found himself at an in pass; his father was out of his life and his mother had thrown both his father and himself out of the house three years previous. Joesph's expulsion from Starfleet had affected her the most. At the peak of his father's court marshal the three of them had had a huge argument, much to the dismay of Robert's sister Rebecca who had only been four at the time. The argument had almost turned violent before Joesph had taken Robert and left abruptly. It was in those few minutes Rob knew his family as he'd know it was officially over. He hadn't spoken to his sister or mother in over 3.5 years. Now, so many years later there was going back home.
Now the age of 17 Robert again registered for the Pre-Academy classes he had quit before leaving three years previous. Over the course of the next 1.5 years Robert would spend the vast majority of his time and efforts into completely the classes he missed while off-world; much to the disdain of his professors who urged him to reunite his mother and sister, many of which knew his mother professionally. Robert would have none of it.
With the same work ethic that got him through three years of classes in half the time Robert graduated from the Academy in the winter of 2408; and has yet to seek out either his sister or mother.
Early Childhood
During his elementary schooling days Robert and his family lived the typical Terran lifestyle and enjoyed their position in the community. Robert's mother was a respected researcher and his father was one of the highest regarded researchers for the Daystrom Institute. Robert and his sister Rebecca attended local schools and participated in many activities--by all considerations the Lansine family was 'normal'.
Trials
The fairy tale would come to an end in the summer of 2499 when Joseph Lansine was indicted for treason by the Starfleet Judge Advocate General's office. The Lansine family was ravaged by the constant attention from the press, Lisa was forced to relocate back home with the children away from Starfleet Headquarters and both kids changed schools the next fall. Starfleet, concerned with the threats the family was receiving, attached a security contingent with each of them during the remainder of the trial. During the next two months Lisa, Robert and Rebecca would live under lock and key away from Joseph and the rest of their old life.
The trial concluded in a bit of fanfare when the Lansine family was allowed to attend the final hearing. When the guilty verdict was handed down after a final deliberation between the three JAG Commanders a look of terror swept across their faces--their father would no longer be able to live on any Federation member planet of colony and would be dishonorably discharged from his service in Starfleet. Rob, only 13 at the time of the trial, was devastated. The man he'd admired his entire life was no a criminal. The emotional roller-coaster that followed the trial ultimately split the family apart, Rob leaving with his father to Orion IV, a colony outside Federation jurisdiction, while Lisa and Rebecca stayed on Earth.
Off World
It only took a few weeks for the Lansine boys to arrange their change of residence and only four days at Warp 8 to reach their new home. Orion IV was exactly as Rob had pictured it when his father had told him the location of their home: dirty, riddled with crime, and in almost every comprehensible way, the opposite from what Rob had grown up in on Earth.

The first few months proved to be more than difficult for Rob who often found himself on the wrong side of a threat or the victim of petty theft. However, despite his problems early on Rob would soon begin melding into the way of life on Orion IV as he found a man named Walz. Walz was a human ten or so years younger than Rob's estranged father and he dealt in a variety of goods and services in and around Orion controlled space--some less legal (in the terms of the Federation) than others. Unbeknownst to his father, Rob began working for Walz in a small capacity in 240003 and worked his way up through the crime lord's cartel of illegality for two years until Rob accidentally stumbled upon information from a Federation woman traveling through the sector. Pieces of information regarding Joseph Lansine's trial were declassified as early as one year after their departure from Earth and after he was informed by the woman of what his father had actually been charged of it infuriated him: his father hadn't only been charged with treason but for the negligent homicide of six of his former colleagues.
Without returning home that evening Rob boarded the Federation transport that the woman had come to Orion IV in and left the planet for good. Never speaking to his father or Walz again, Rob set out to redefine himself.

Medical History
Besides a severe plasma burn suffered aboard the USS Zeus, a Federation transport during his stay aboard and the ensuing scar Robert has never suffered from a serious medical condition.
Psychological Report
Strengths
In tough situations Rob usually makes the right choice, and fast. Growing up in an analytical house hold his judgments are quick and deceive. These judgments generally are positive, however those who Rob labels negatively may have a hard time getting on his good side.
Robert is very competitive and rarely turns down a challenge, no matter what kind. Beating him in anything he deems "worthwhile" will gain you an almost instant respect with him.
Weaknesses
With analyzing comes over analyzing, and Rob has been known to look deeper than the situation requires at times. At the same time Rob has also been known to jump to conclusions to quickly, but is willing to go back and find the right one; though it is a humbling process.
As one might expect, Lansine has been known to behave bitterly at the mentioning of his father or any topic related to the matter.

SD 240811.01 - Dr. Steven Stangl - Starfleet Medical
Rob exhibits a extreme distaste of dishonesty. Having endured a childhood filled with lies and improper parental guidance he must find things out for himself first hand and rarely assume something to be true without evidence. This has been somewhat of a vice for Rob during his academy years but has also helped him in his Security studies. His professional future will very likely deal with discerning what the truth of the situation is, and I feel Robert will be more than able to come to the correct conclusion -/\- End Log -/\-
