Born to Rihannsu who were considered outcasts by the rest of society for following pacifist Vulcan philosophies (and thus had been exiled to Ch'Dabhae), Nveid grew up a typical farmer's child on a world in the impoverished Eastern Empire.
One of only two survivors of the biogenic attack on Ch'Dabhae, then 10 year old Nveid formed a strong attachment to Charon's crew, and most specifically to the Vulcan he considered his rescuer.
Since living on Vulcan with his adoptive mother, Nveid has decided to embrace the culture to the best of his abilities in an effort to 'give back' to the people who in his mind accepted him when his own species did not. Out of respect for his grandmother and parents (and because his Vulcan mother suggested it), he has not outright rejected his Rihannsu heritage. However he is proud to bear his adopted Vulcan clan name; and with the Twelfth House's happy permission has added the 'Tyrax' his mother maintains to indicate her Betazoid heritage to his name as well.
Nveid has been sponsored to attend the Vulcan Science Academy by his great-grandfather Solkar, and has been practicing self-defense arts under his mother's tutelage since his time on Charon.
While his original intent to follow in his mother's footsteps and join the V'Ket is still an option he considers, he also finds his early studies at the Academy highly rewarding.
