A decidious shrub or small tree, growing between 1 to 6 meters tall, with thorny branches. The glossy, oblong leaves are a silvery green, the flowers a dark red.
The rishtik is aptly named "survival plant" on Vulcan, since it is a hardy shrub that takes root even in desert environments. Its fruits look somewhat like a prickly pear and taste similar to pomegranates and Kaferian apples.
Native to the Han-Shir continent, rishtik is cultivated all over Vulcan.
