The IRW Aylhr is an award winning PBem (play by email/post) simulation in UCIP. Overall UCIP has a very rich and in-depth simming environment for anyone interested in the details of Star Trek but it’s also simple enough for the casual writer. Our motto is that simming is an escape from real life but not a substitute. We all are here to enjoy ourselves, not find more work.
Set in 2421 where the Romulan Star Empire has just been devastated by the death of the Praetor. A growing conspiracy and sense of malaise have seemingly infected the Empire. After spending the past decade moving the Imperial Navy towards a merit based command structure the current. A slow ebb of sickness has slowly begun enveloping the heart of democracy in the Alpha Quadrant and the time couldn't be worse. With a strengthened Empire the new Klingon Chancellor's territorial ambition has brought them into conflict with the Romulan Star Empire. As the turmoil spreads there is a renewed call for Starfleet to decrease it's proclivity for military resolution and seek out alternatives: To renew the old focus on exploration, scientific research, and peaceful diplomatic initiatives.
In this chaotic universe resides the Crazy Horse. After a heavy battle that essentially rendered the ship derelict the Crazy Horse would be towed back to Earth and the actions of the Commanding Officer Zivit Agron questioned. Deciding that Commander Agron is overwhelmed Starfleet relieves her of Command and Captain Khiy Kanryth is appointed as the new Commanding Officer while Agron agrees to remain aboard as the ship's Executive Officer.
After a contentious beginning, things slowly settle aboard the Crazy Horse and the ship takes up the paramount role of Exploration and Humanitarian Aid within Beta Quadrant.
If someone asked me ‘what is the IRW Aylhr?’ my answer would be that the Aylhr is a community of friends who get together to write and have fun in the exciting world of Star Trek.
