Current Plot: Penumbra

With the construction of the new IRW Aylhr nearing completion, Galae'EnRiov Shiarrael t'Rehu visits the Jezerek shipyards to tour the vessel. During her inspection, she uncovers a conspiracy within elements of the Galae command staff to block a particular officer from consideration as Aylhr’s commander—the son of the disgraced former Galae'EnRiov Ameh'ha t'Neyl. Recognizing the move as an attempt by the Zorek clan to expand its influence within the Galae, she overrides the objections and appoints Riov Rhae'go tr'Neyl to command the warbird.

Meanwhile, on the neutral zone world of Eternity, Zorek Senator Chavek tr'Parneas is murdered while visiting the war graves of his sons. The news is quietly suppressed pending further investigation. Suspecting a wider plot, Fifth Fleet commander Khre'Riov Raha t'Nanclus discreetly dispatches the newly commissioned IRW Aylhr and her crew to uncover the truth.

-The away teams are greeted by a grueling scenario, with the population of the first settlement they encounter wiped out by a mysterious plague and bodies piled in the streets and outside hospitals. While Captain t'Rehu is unsettled by the similarities to another plague she once encountered, she refuses to jump to conclusions.  When two away teams find survivors in small scattered villages, they attempt to investigate the cause of the disaster and render whatever aid possible. Their efforts are cut short however when a garbled message reaches them - Charon is under attack by unknown assailants and something is launched into the atmosphere - has Charon been lured into a trap?
