Biography

In the northern telling of the ancient Rihannsu tale Rhea’s Helm, the demon bound to the legendary helm is known as Rhae’go—a being of cunning and ferocity. It was one of Ameh’ah t’Neyl’s favorite childhood stories, so when she bore her first son, she ensured he carried the name of the infamous head-biting demon.

Despite the foreboding name, Rhae’go’s early years were relatively carefree. His father, a Galae ship commander, was often off-world, while his mother, a vice-chairman of the Tal’Diann, spent much of her time engaged in political battles with the Tal’Shiar. This left Rhae’go with plenty of time to explore the sprawling estate outside of Ahai, near the Apnex Sea. He spent long hours chasing the estate’s hlai flock, swimming in the sea’s cold waters, and playing with the servants' children.

But childhood innocence does not last forever. At age 12, tragedy struck—his father perished in an accident on duty. Suddenly, the carefree days were gone. His mother became distant, struggling with her grief, and the attention he received in the wake of his father’s death felt suffocating. Seeking escape, he grew closer to his grandmother, Jhu t’Pardek, whose sharp wit and political acumen provided a different kind of education.

By 14, restless and eager for purpose, Rhae’go enrolled in the Romulan War College.

Romulan War College

Rhae’go adapted quickly to the structured life of the War College. He excelled in his studies, developing a deep interest in Quantum Engineering. Outside the classroom, he engaged in several extracurriculars, becoming an adept D’Elo player—an intellectual sport that tested both strategy and patience.

It was during these years that he forged a lasting friendship with D’Nal tr’Xibanas, a bond that would shape his future. Over time, their friendship deepened into something more, and D’Nal would later serve as his RS—his most trusted officer and lover.

Years in the Romulan Navy

Graduating from the War College, Rhae’go began his Serona as Paectum aboard the IRW Okhala. Under the guidance of his superior, Daise’Paectum Veran tr’Danlek, he honed his skills in engineering and command. His thirst for knowledge led him to enroll in university courses, furthering his expertise in Quantum Engineering.

When tr’Danlek completed his own Serona, Rhae’go assumed the role of Daise’Paectum, serving in the position for several years. He had proven himself—a promising officer with a sharp mind and a steady hand. But fate had other plans.

Death of His Mother & the Shadow of Treason

In the Romulan Star Empire, few things are worse than being labeled a traitor. Being the kin of one is even worse.

After earning a promotion to erie’Riov, Rhae’go was given command of the IRW Kholhr—his first Leih posting. Returning to ch’Rihan to celebrate, his mother, Ameh’ah, hosted a grand gathering in his honor. The guest list included several high-ranking Galae officers, including members of the powerful Zorek clan—his own distant relatives.

Then the explosion happened.

A massive blast tore through the estate, killing many attendees, including Ameh’ah herself. Rhae’go survived only by chance—he had stepped out to retrieve ingredients from a local market when the attack occurred.

The blame fell squarely on his mother. The official story claimed it was an assassination attempt on the Zorek clan, an act of betrayal from within. Rhae’go refused to accept this, insisting that his mother had been framed. But no one would listen. Protests were ignored. Appeals fell on deaf ears.

Without trial or evidence, he was cast out. The IRW Kholhr and its crew were exiled to the Empire’s eastern fringes, a forgotten corner of space where the disgraced were sent to be erased.

Fifteen Years in Exile

For fifteen years, Rhae’go commanded the Kholhr, a ghost ship in a forgotten sector. His name, once one of promise, had become poison.

Every recommendation for promotion was quietly rejected. His career stalled, not for lack of skill, but because his family name had been condemned. Only when war broke out did his exile begin to crack.

During the brief Klingon conflict, he led a critical campaign to liberate the Derex system. His leadership was undeniable—efficient, decisive, and ruthless. After the war, he was finally granted a long-overdue promotion to Riov, though it took another fifteen years before it was officially recognized.

Personality

Rhae’go is calm, calculating, and reserved. He prefers to think before he acts, relying on analysis over impulse. His command style is notably aloof—he grants his crew significant autonomy, which can be either a strength or a liability, depending on the situation.

At heart, he remains an engineer, fascinated by how things work, whether it be ships, technology, or the complex machinations of the Romulan political sphere. He has learned patience, but beneath his composed exterior lies an intensity—a storm waiting for the right moment to break.
