The valit is a small, rust-colored rodent native to the planet Vulcan.
Its powerful claws enable the valit to burrow through even the hardest soils and volcanic rock. Known for their speed and intelligence, the creatures will hide in vast underground complexes from predators such as the le-matya or the shavokh.
The name of the valit is also used in describing computer programs used to 'burrow' past security interfaces, leaving no trace of the unauthorized access.
